About

Mission Statement

ASCSA (Active Single Christian Scientists Association) is a not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization whose purpose is to provide opportunities for active, single Christian Scientists to meet each other and enjoy fun-filled weeks/weekends of camaraderie, sports, and entertainment. Our programs are primarily designed for those who enjoy vigorous athletic activities. ASCSA events are open to all adult, unmarried students of Christian Science. All events reflect a drug-free and alcohol-free family atmosphere.

We are democratically governed by a committee made up of volunteers from across the country and maintain a set of bylaws to ensure we fulfill our mission in fun and creative ways.

History

ASCSA was founded in 1996 by six single Christian Scientists in Atlanta, Georgia, who wanted to create events for busy, single professionals who practice Christian Science. Since then, more than 800 attendees from across North America and as far away as China and Italy have enjoyed our trips.

Past Trips

We are an active group! Our Labor Day weekend events have been held at Christian Science summer camps including, Cedars in Missouri, Adventure Unlimited (A/U) in Colorado, Newfound/Owatonna in Maine, and Leelanau/Kohahna in Michigan. In addition, ASCSA has hosted annual week-long ski trips to Colorado and California. We have skiied the bumps and deep powder at Winter Park, Frisco, Breckenridge, Steamboat, Lake Tahoe, Berthod, Copper Mountain, Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Loveland, Aspen, Durango-Purgatory, and Wolf Creek.

We’ve also cruised on several different cruise lines across the Caribbean.
