WHERE: Durango Mountain Resort, Colorado March 6 - 13 2010

We took over a lovely lodge just minutes from the base of Purgatory. Lots of great snow, fellowship off and on the mountain, with side trips to Church and groups checking out Durango and area sights.

How wonderful to report that the "metaphysical component" was the highest rated aspect of this trip. Lisa Davis, a practitioner from Albuquerque, shared topics of unity and our togetherness reading and sharing the Bible Lesson together each morning after breakfast (in a lovely room with fireplace and big family table). Several requested specific treatment were met on this trip.

JJ and Pete Jordan served as our event hosts with JJ, Tim Brink and Paul Rickey bringing their Florida sunshine, via Wolf Creek, where they had skied/boarded the week before. Susan Pocklington, Rick Taylor, and Meggen Watt came in from Michigan and look forward to seeing us all for our next ASCSA event in their neighborhood at Camps Kohanna and Lelanau over Labor Day.

Pete and MJ drove in from Denver, loaded down with Pete's Costco food runs, Karen Greig came for a short-stay from Chicago, Jennifer Doak from Virginia, Barbara Born from Ohio, Bill Webster from St. Louis, Art Kestler from Louisville, Susan Ozanne from San Francisco, and Steve Werner from Utah (who is working on Park City, Utah for our 2011 destination, by the way).
Ross MacDonald joined us again from Boston, plus John Early from Amarillo, and first-timer Liana Zambresky who we met at Lake Tahoe last year.

Highlights included the many wonderful fires the guys made for us, JJ's screams of delight heard all over the slopes, Steve's "helmet cam" catching the action, and first-time skier Barbara Born gaining confidence in lessons and through our encouragement. Pete had lots of support in the kitchen and planned delicious meals for us with prep and cleaning help. For lunch, we met in the Powderhouse mountain lodge unpacking our lunches and hearing about the morning's tales of Susan and John getting lost in the trees, Karen keeping up with the boys, and Ross being his patient self!

We're trying to forget about the black run we took Meggen and Susan P down their first day on the slopes - but they survived! Rick took lots of great photos, and Paul was the first in the hot tub back at the Lodge.

On Wednesday, we all squeezed in cars for our one dinner out in Durango before church, a hymn sing and cookies the members made for us!

Our private lodge is just 1.5 miles from the base of the ski area. An on call shuttle is available to take us to/from the base for skiing, mountain entertainment, snowmobiling, tubing.
