ASCSA Winter Bash at Copper Mountain, Colorado
March 10-14, 2025

For four fun-filled days we enjoyed downhill and cross-country skiing and other outdoor winter activities in and around Copper Mountain in the heart of ski country, beautiful Summit County, Colorado.  We had a great time meeting new friends and seeing old ones again in a warm Christian Science atmosphere.
Five downhill skiers enjoyed great conditions and weather at Copper for three days.  We enjoyed lunch together, played around with doing a human slalom and even tried out the racing course that was set up.  Another group member went cross-country skiing one day with our CS Practitioner, Bonnie Sue Wadleigh, who also joined us for dinner one night.

Back at the condo in Silverthorne we enjoyed great food and conversation together, jumped in the hot tub, made snow angels, sat by the fireplace and took walks on the trail behind the condo.  On the last night, a few braves souls stayed up to see the Blood Moon and got some great pics, and on our walk the last day we glimpsed a moose through the trees.  Before leaving the area on Friday, we did some sightseeing in Frisco, visiting their free Historic Park and Museums and having lunch at a nearby café.

One of the highlights of the trip was attendance at a special testimony meeting of the informal Summit County Christian Science Group.  The group usually only meets on zoom, but gathered at a local home Thursday evening and graciously invited us to join them there. We enjoyed inspirational readings and testimonies as well as music provided by Matthew Hammond and Davya Flaharty (loveonlygrows.org).  It was a special evening enjoyed by all!

We were fortunate to be able to stay at a beautiful, extra large condo with (5) bedrooms at a below market rate, courtesy of an ASCSA member who ran ski trips for many years, John Jordan (JJ).  If you’d like to see the Blue River Chalet, go to:  summitresortgroup.com/vrp/unit/Blue_River_Chalet_2570-188939
